Dear [TEAM LEAD], Thank you for submitting your proposal, [PROJECT TITLE], to the 2013- 2014 Big Ideas@Berkeley Contest. We received over 190 original submissions this year across all of the different categories, making the final selection process extremely difficult for the judges. We are sorry to inform you that your submission was not selected for a prize. This decision is not a reflection on the quality or merits of your idea. Rather, it is a testament to the caliber and intensity of the competition that resulted from the outstanding idea proposals we received this year. Attached to this email is the feedback from the judges who reviewed your Full Proposal. Please keep in mind, the 2014-15 Big Ideas Contest will re-launch in the fall semester. In the meantime, we will continue to offer support and services to students as they seek to develop and advance their innovative plans. Big Ideas advisors will be available throughout the Spring semester and summer, and we will hold additional writing workshops and information sessions in the fall. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please email us at bigideas@berkeley.edu Again, thank you for applying to the Big Ideas@Berkeley Contest, and for pushing yourself and your fellow students to think big. Best Regards, Jason Dear University of South Carolina fans.... (self.CFB) submitted 5 years ago * by Michigan Wolverinesscalz1 I would like to commend you on the way you represented both your school and fanbase yesterday. After two awful experiences with SEC fans(UF- Mich Cap One Bowl and MSU - Mich Gator Bowl) I went into this matchup with trepidation about Gamecock fans behavior; I couldn't have been more wrong. The tailgate was a mixed bag of SC and Mich fans in the parking lot,and there was some jawing, but it was all respectful. We, as Mich fans, were offered food and drink from many SC fans; that didn't happen at the prior two bowl games I mentioned. During the game, the SC fans were loud and organized. I sat on the Mich side, 5 yd line of the SC endzone. When SC needed noise, the fans delivered; it was a wall of sound emanating from their endzone. The S-E-C chant after that first pick was a little annoying, though. After the game, many SC fans congratulated us on a hard fought game. No one taunted, yelled, or threw liquor bottles at us(looking at you, Gator fans). We hung out in the parking lot waiting for the traffic to die down with a few Gamecock fans. I brought way too much food for the pre-game and handed it out liberally. The people were genuinely thankful and polite. The interaction with the SC fans made this gut-wrenching loss a little more tolerable. Thank you. TL;DR Gamecock fans are a class act. EDIT I forgot to mention the lovely ladies in sundresses and cowboy boots. Yowza. EDIT 2 I didn't mean for this to be an SEC bashing thread - I merely wanted to compliment the SC fans. The experiences I related were merely for context. FULL DISCLOSURE I will probably be attending UF in the fall.
